"Alex was able to successfully foster an environment where a large number of students care about the material and actively participate in class. I have never been in a class with more class participation when it was not required than my Urban Economics class, and that is largely due to the way that Alex taught the class. Also, I absolutely love his humor as well, and I hope he continues to implement it in every class he teaches. I have learned a lot about Urban Economics before I took the class, as it is a topic that I am extremely passionate about. Despite this, I learned a lot in every single class period, and was able to have a much better understanding of a topic that I really care about." (from ECON 462 Fall 2023)
"Professor Tsiukes was an awesome professor. To me, Urban Economics is a tough class/concept in general, and I felt he did his absolute best to help us understand the material as best as he could. Very helpful, great feedback, and had no problem slowing down the pace of class with difficult parts and adjusting the course schedule. Definitely one of the better professors I have had at WVU." (from ECON 462 Fall 2023)
"Alex did a great job at fostering a positive learning environment through helpful feedback and great discussion. He also was great at creating a welcoming environment as I never felt like I didn’t want to attend class. I felt the open discussion in this course was one of its strong suits whether it be during notes or presentations. The exams and quizzes were also in a perfect spot as they never seemed too overbearing to the learning experience." (from ECON 462 Fall 2023)
"My professor, Alex Tsiukes really helped me learn the information in this course. His way of teaching is great, and I would love to have him again for other Econ classes. Amazing professor." (from ECON 201 Spring 2023)
"The professor was great for this class. I like how to the point he is. His slides are all you can ask for for a class and his teaching style is so simple it is hard to dislike. He has been my favorite teacher here at WVU so far." (from ECON 201 Spring 2023)
"The lectures are very well put together. Also the professor is very approachable and makes the class feel relaxed." (from ECON 201 Spring 2023)
"Whenever I had questions he was able to answer them and relate the concepts to the real world to help me better understand. The practice assignments also helped a lot in letting me know how I was doing in a module so I know how much/what to study before the exam. Also the music before every class was great." (from ECON 201 Spring 2023)
"No changes, Alex was a great professor and knew how to engage the class. Alex also was very responsive to emails if I had questions, and was willing to help with anything." (from ECON 201 Spring 2023)
"I would make Alex teach every class not just economics." (from ECON 201 Spring 2023)
