Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Winthrop University and a proud Winthrop alumni.Β

My research is at the intersection of urban and transportation economics, with a focus on how transportation policies and systems impact economic and health outcomes. I am particularly interested in using causal inference techniques – a set of methods that uses observational data to recover cause-and-effect relationships – to better understand how to reduce negative congestion externalities and create safer, more inclusive cities. For more information about my research, please visit my Research page.Β

I am also passionate about teaching. My teaching philosophy is centered on creating an engaging and student-centric learning environment and was shaped by my previous experiences in the U.S. Peace Corps. For an overview of the courses I have experience teaching, please visit my Teaching page.
